Texas Agricultural Cooperative Trust (TACT) is a not for profit trust, licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance as a multiple employer welfare arrangement, (MEWA). The MEWA is managed by a Board of Trustees which employs an Executive Director to manage the day to day operations of the MEWA.
TACT is an employee welfare benefit plan under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, as amended. Participating employers and the employees make contributions to TACT for the purpose of providing health benefit coverage for themselves and their eligible dependents. Those funds are held by TACT in a fiduciary capacity for the sole benefit of those participating employers, employees and dependents. None of the Trustees, the Executive Director or any other individual person owns TACT or any shares thereof.
TACT Insurance Agency Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Texas Agricultural Cooperative Trust (TACT). The TACT Insurance Agency is a life and health insurance agency licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance. Any revenue received by the Agency belongs ultimately to Texas Agricultural Cooperative Trust, (TACT). There are no individuals who have an ownership interest in TACT Insurance Agency.
Texas Agribusiness Insurance Specialists (TAIS) is a general lines property and casualty insurance agency licensed by the Texas Department of Insurance and managed by the Executive Director and staff of Texas Agricultural Cooperative Trust, (TACT). TAIS is endorsed by TACT and an endorsement fee is paid to TACT for such administrative, managerial, accounting, clerical and marketing services as may be necessary or desirable. Texas Agribusiness also reimburses TACT for facilities, phone system, supplies, furniture and equipment sufficient to conduct its business.
